This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds related to SplitRight Premium purchases, operated by BinaryScript Private Limited.

Free vs Premium

SplitRight is free to use with up to 2 groups. Premium subscriptions unlock unlimited groups and additional features.

All payments are processed through Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

1. Free Version

The free version of SplitRight includes:

  • Create up to 2 groups
  • Unlimited expenses within groups
  • Unlimited contacts
  • All splitting options (equal, percentage, exact, shares)
  • Balance tracking and settlement
  • Export to CSV/PDF

No payment required - therefore no refund applicable for free usage.

2. Premium Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions may be offered as:

  • Monthly Subscription: Billed every month, auto-renews
  • Yearly Subscription: Billed annually, auto-renews
  • Lifetime Purchase: One-time payment (if available)
3. Refund Eligibility
3.1 Apple App Store (iOS)

All iOS purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refunds are subject to Apple's refund policy:

How to request a refund from Apple:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the SplitRight purchase
  4. Select "Request a refund"
  5. Choose your reason and submit

3.2 Google Play Store (Android)

All Android purchases and subscriptions are processed by Google. Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund policy:

Within 48 Hours: Google Play may automatically approve refund requests made within 48 hours of purchase.

How to request a refund from Google Play:

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Go to Payments & subscriptions > Budget & history
  4. Find the SplitRight purchase
  5. Tap "Refund" or "Report a problem"
  6. Follow the instructions

4. Circumstances for Refund Consideration

Refunds may be considered in the following cases:

  • Accidental purchases
  • Duplicate charges
  • Technical issues preventing premium features from working
  • Unauthorized purchases
  • Premium features not working as described
5. Non-Refundable Cases

Refunds are generally NOT provided for:

  • Subscription time already used
  • Change of mind after significant use
  • Failure to cancel subscription before renewal
  • Not using the app during the subscription period
  • Device incompatibility (check requirements before purchase)
  • Data loss (data is stored locally on your device)

Important: We cannot recover data lost due to app uninstallation or device issues. This is not grounds for a refund as data is stored locally on your device.

6. Subscription Cancellation
6.1 Cancel on iOS (Apple)
  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Find SplitRight
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription
6.2 Cancel on Android (Google Play)
  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap your profile icon
  3. Go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
  4. Find SplitRight
  5. Tap Cancel subscription
6.3 What Happens After Cancellation
  • You retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period
  • No future charges will occur
  • After the period ends, you revert to the free version (2 groups limit)
  • Your existing data remains intact
  • You can re-subscribe anytime

Important: Cancellation does NOT automatically qualify for a refund. Cancellation only stops future billing.

7. Processing Time
  • Apple Refunds: 3-5 business days after approval
  • Google Play Refunds: 3-5 business days after approval
  • Bank Processing: May take additional 5-10 business days depending on your bank/card
8. Refund Method

Refunds are processed to the original payment method:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refund to the same card
  • Apple Pay / Google Pay: Refund to linked payment method
  • Store Credit: May be issued in some cases

10. Free Trial (If Applicable)

If a free trial is offered:

  • One free trial per user/account
  • Full Premium features available during trial
  • Automatically converts to paid subscription unless cancelled
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before trial ends to avoid charges
11. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this refund policy at any time. Changes will be communicated through app updates or our website.
