How to Delete Your Mobile Terminal Account

Last Updated: 15 Nov 2025

⚠️ CRITICAL SECURITY WARNING

Before deleting your account:

  • Remember that all SSH credentials (passwords and private keys) are stored ONLY on your device
  • Deleting your Mobile Terminal account will NOT automatically delete SSH credentials from your device
  • You MUST manually delete SSH connections, keys, and credentials from the app before uninstalling
  • If you lose your device, your SSH credentials may be at risk even after account deletion
  • Recommendation: Rotate all SSH keys and passwords for servers you accessed through Mobile Terminal
Introduction

We respect your right to delete your Mobile Terminal account and personal data. This page explains how to permanently delete your account and what data will be removed.

Mobile Terminal offers two methods for account deletion:

  1. In-App Deletion (Recommended - Fastest)
  2. Email Request (Alternative method)
Important Information Before You Delete
⚠️ What You Should Know
  • Account deletion is permanent and irreversible
  • You will lose access to all premium features immediately
  • No refunds will be provided for active subscriptions (cancel first if needed)
  • Your user profile and Firebase authentication data will be deleted
  • SSH credentials stored on your device will remain until manually deleted or app uninstalled
  • You will need to create a new account if you wish to use Mobile Terminal again
What Gets Deleted

When you delete your Mobile Terminal account, the following data will be permanently removed from our servers:

  • User Profile: Your name, email, and Google account information
  • Authentication Data: Firebase User ID and JWT tokens
  • Device Information: Device IDs and app usage analytics linked to your account
  • Subscription Status: Premium subscription records (billing handled by app stores)
  • Account Activity: Login history and session timestamps
What Remains on Your Device

The following data stored locally on your device will NOT be automatically deleted:

  • SSH Connection Profiles: Server addresses, ports, usernames, connection names
  • SSH Credentials: Passwords and private keys (encrypted in device storage)
  • Terminal Data: Command history, session logs, terminal output
  • App Preferences: Settings and configurations

To remove this data: Manually delete all connections and keys from the app, then uninstall Mobile Terminal from your device.

  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
  3. Tap Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
  4. Find Mobile Terminal and tap it

Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel through your app store to stop future billing.

Post-Deletion: Securing Your SSH Access

After deleting your Mobile Terminal account, we strongly recommend:

Critical Security Steps:
  1. Rotate SSH Keys: Generate new SSH key pairs for all servers you accessed through Mobile Terminal
  2. Revoke Old Keys: Remove the public keys you generated in Mobile Terminal from all servers' authorized_keys files
  3. Change SSH Passwords: If you used password authentication, change the passwords for all affected servers
  4. Audit Server Access: Review server logs to ensure no unauthorized access occurred
  5. Delete Local Data: Manually delete all SSH connections from Mobile Terminal before uninstalling
  6. Uninstall the App: After deleting connections, uninstall Mobile Terminal to remove all local data
🔐 Security Best Practice

Even though Mobile Terminal stores SSH credentials only on your device (never on our servers), it's good security practice to rotate credentials after account deletion, especially if:

  • You're deleting your account due to a lost or stolen device
  • Multiple people had access to your device
  • You accessed sensitive production servers
  • You're no longer using the device where Mobile Terminal was installed
Data Retention Timeline

After account deletion:

  • Immediate: Your account is deactivated, and you cannot log in
  • Within 30 days: Your user profile and personal data are permanently deleted from our servers
  • Within 180 days: Firebase backup data is permanently removed
  • Analytics data: Anonymized and disassociated from your identity immediately
Re-Creating Your Account

If you change your mind and want to use Mobile Terminal again:

  • You can create a new account using the same Google account
  • All previous data will be gone (no recovery possible)
  • You will need to re-configure all SSH connections
  • Previous premium subscriptions do not carry over (new subscription required)
