How to Delete Your Account

We're sorry to see you go. You can delete your CrimeFM account and all associated data directly inside the app — no email or request form is required.
warning Important: Cancel Your Subscription First
If you have an active paid subscription, cancel it before deleting your account to avoid future charges. Deleting your CrimeFM account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.
Google Play Store app > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > CrimeFM > Cancel subscription. See Step 1 below.
Delete Your Account In the App
Step 1: Cancel Your Subscription (If You Have One)
- Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device
- Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find CrimeFM and tap it
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions
Skip this step if you have never purchased a CrimeFM subscription.
Step 2: Delete Your Account
- Open the CrimeFM app and make sure you are signed in
- Go to Settings
- Tap Delete account
- Read the confirmation notice and confirm
Your account and its data are removed immediately, and you are signed out of the app.
Step 3: Remove Downloads and Uninstall (Optional)
Stories you downloaded are stored only on your device. To remove them:
- In CrimeFM, open Downloads and delete the downloaded stories, or
- Uninstall the app: device Settings > Apps > CrimeFM > Uninstall
Uninstalling removes all downloaded audio and cached data from your device.
What Gets Deleted
Deleted permanently when you delete your account:
- Your profile (name, email, profile photo and account identifier received from Google Sign-In)
- Your liked stories
- Your listening history and "Continue Listening" playback positions
- Your account timestamps
- Your notification token, so you stop receiving notifications
Stored only on your device (removed by you):
- Downloaded audio files and their download records
- App cache and local preferences
This data is never uploaded to us. Delete the downloads in the app or uninstall CrimeFM to remove it.
Data We May Retain
We may retain certain information after account deletion, as described in our Privacy Policy:
- Anonymised or aggregated analytics and crash data that does not identify you
- Purchase and transaction records required for tax, accounting, or legal compliance
- Records required to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes
Important Notes
- Deletion is permanent. Your likes, listening history and playback positions cannot be recovered.
- Subscriptions are not refunded. Deleting your account does not qualify you for a refund — see our Refund Policy.
- Re-registering: you can sign in again with the same Google account at any time, but you will start with a fresh, empty account.
- Your Google account is not affected. Deleting your CrimeFM account does not delete or change your Google account. To revoke CrimeFM's access to your Google account, visit Google Account > Third-party apps.
Can't Access the App?
If you cannot sign in or the in-app option is unavailable, email us and we will delete your account for you:

Include the email address of the Google account you used to sign in, and confirmation that you want your account deleted. We will verify the request and delete your account within 30 days.
