Privacy Policy
Mobile Repair Shop Manager
Last Updated: 12 August 2026
Introduction
Binaryscript Private Limited ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Mobile Repair Shop Manager mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, why it is collected, where it goes, and what control you have over it.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The single most important thing to understand about this App: your business records — every job card, customer name, phone number, IMEI, photograph, payment and note — are stored in a database on your own device and are never uploaded to us. We operate no server that holds them and we have no copy of them. What does leave your device is limited to your sign-in account details, subscription status, and anonymous usage and crash statistics, all described in detail below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
a) Sign-in account
The App requires you to sign in with Google, or with Apple on iPhone and iPad. From that account we receive:
- Your name, as it appears on the account
- Your email address
- Your profile photo URL, which the App displays in Settings and never stores or transmits anywhere else
- A Firebase user identifier (UID)
With Sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your real email address; Apple then supplies a private relay address instead, and that is all we receive.
We never see or receive your Google or Apple password.
b) Your shop profile
Shop name, shop phone number, shop address, currency symbol and your own repair terms and conditions. These are stored on your device and printed on the job cards you generate. They are not uploaded to us.
c) Your business records
Job cards and everything attached to them: customer name and phone number, device brand, model and IMEI, problem description, repair status, condition checklist, intake photographs, estimated cost, payments, balance due and the job timeline.
This data is stored in a local SQLite database and in your app's private file storage. It is never transmitted to us, never backed up to a server by us, and we cannot read it. See Section 6 for what this means for your data if you lose the device.
1.2 Information Stored Only On Your Device
In addition to the business records above, the App keeps the following in your device's app-preferences storage, and only there:
- Your shop profile and app settings
- Your detected two-letter country code and which payment rail applies to you
- Whether onboarding is complete, and when the upgrade screen was last shown
- Your premium status and, where applicable, the subscription end date
- A count of job cards created, which drives the free allowance and the rate-this-app prompt
- The identifiers of purchases already processed, so a re-delivered purchase is not counted twice
- A one-day cache of the "More Apps" list
- Your session tokens for our backend (see 1.3(c))
Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes all of this permanently.
1.3 Information Sent To Our Own Servers
a) At sign-in
When you sign in, the App sends the following to our backend at api.binaryscript.com in order to create or recognise your account:
- The Firebase ID token issued by your sign-in
- The App's package name and the platform (android or ios)
- Device and build information: operating system, operating system version, App version and build number
- Your two-letter country code and language code (see 1.5)
In return we store an account record containing an internal identifier, your Firebase UID, your name, email, country, language and your subscription status. If you enter a phone number in connection with a payment, it is stored with that account record.
b) Subscription and payment (Indian users on Android)
If you are in India and using Android, subscriptions are billed by UPI AutoPay mandate through PhonePe rather than through Google Play. For this the App exchanges the following with our backend: the plan you selected, the UPI app you chose to pay with, and the order and subscription identifiers returned to us, which are then used to verify the payment.
Your card number, bank account, UPI PIN and UPI ID are entered inside your own UPI app and are never seen by the App or by us. PhonePe is the payment processor and handles those details under its own privacy policy: https://www.phonepe.com/privacy-policy/
c) Session tokens
Our backend issues access and refresh tokens which the App stores on your device to keep you signed in. They are removed when you log out or delete your account.
If our backend is unreachable, the App continues to work: your job cards are local, so a server failure never locks you out of your own records.
1.4 Information Collected Automatically By Third-Party Services
a) Google Analytics for Firebase
Used to understand how the App is used and where shops get stuck. It collects:
- Screen views within the App
- Product events, specifically: splash and login views, sign-in success or failure, logout, account deletion, onboarding viewed and completed, shop profile saved, paywall viewed and dismissed, plan selected, free limit reached, purchase initiated, failed or restored, trial started, job card created, job status changed, job deleted, payment added, PDF generated, WhatsApp message sent, QR code scanned, review and update prompts, and taps on the support, privacy, terms, rate and more-apps items in Settings
- Purchase events, containing the transaction identifier, product identifier, amount and currency
- User properties: whether you are premium, your country code, whether you are on the Indian rail, and which payment rail applies
- Your Firebase UID, set as the Analytics user identifier
- Device information: device model, operating system version, App version, screen and language settings
- Session information: when the App was opened and how long it was used
- Identifiers: a Firebase installation / app instance identifier and, on Android, the device advertising ID, which Google Analytics for Firebase collects by default
- An approximate, coarse location (typically country or region) that Google derives from the IP address of the connection. The App does not request or use any location permission and never accesses your device's GPS.
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Product events carry counts, identifiers and status values only. No customer name, phone number, IMEI, photograph, problem description or payment amount from your job cards is ever included in an analytics event.
b) Firebase Crashlytics
Used to find and fix crashes. It collects crash and error reports including the stack trace and the state of the App at the time, plus device model, operating system version, App version and a Crashlytics installation identifier. Crash reporting is disabled in development builds. Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
c) Firebase Remote Config
Used to set the free job-card allowance, how often the upgrade screen appears, and the minimum supported App version. It fetches configuration values; it sends us no personal information about you. Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
d) Firebase Authentication
Manages your sign-in session and issues the identity token described in 1.3(a). Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
e) Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase
Handle all purchases outside India, and all purchases on iPhone and iPad. Google and Apple process your payment under their own privacy policies. We receive only the purchase status, the product identifier and the transaction identifier — never your card details or billing address.
1.5 How The App Determines Your Country
The App needs a country code for one reason only: to decide whether to show you Google Play / Apple billing or the Indian UPI AutoPay option. It resolves this, in order of preference, from:
- Your Google Play billing account country, or your App Store storefront
- Your SIM card's country
- Your mobile network's country
- Your device's language and region setting
This is a country code, not your location. The App requests no location permission, never reads GPS, and cannot tell where you are beyond the country.
1.6 Permissions The App Requests
- Camera — to photograph devices at intake and to scan the QR code on a printed job card. Photos are saved to the App's private storage on your device.
- Photo library — only when you choose to attach an existing photo, through your device's own picker.
- Internet — for sign-in, subscription checks, analytics and crash reporting, the More Apps list and the in-app legal pages. Your job data never uses it.
- Billing (Android) — for in-app purchases and to read your Play billing country.
The App requests no location, contacts, storage, microphone, SMS or telephone permissions.
1.7 What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your customers' personal data, your intake photographs, your job cards, your payment records, your contacts, your files, your messages, your precise location, your health or fitness information, your card or bank details, or anything else you type into a job card.
2. Your Customers' Data — And Your Responsibility
The App is a tool for recording information about other people: your customers' names, phone numbers, devices and repair histories. You enter that information; you decide what to record; and it stays on your device.
In data protection terms, you are the controller of your customers' data and we are not a processor of it, because it never reaches us. That means:
- You are responsible for collecting and holding your customers' information lawfully, and for telling them what you record and why, where the law where you operate requires that.
- You are responsible for keeping your device secure. Anyone who can unlock your phone can read every job card in the App.
- When you send a WhatsApp status update, that message and its contents are handed to WhatsApp and are governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy, not ours. Send updates only to customers who expect them.
- When you print or share a PDF job card, the contents of that file leave the App under your control, and what happens to it afterwards is your responsibility.
If you operate in India, note that the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 places obligations on businesses that handle customers' personal data. The same is true of the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the UK, and of comparable laws elsewhere. Please satisfy yourself that your use of the App fits the rules that apply to your shop.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described in Section 1.3 and 1.4 only for:
- Creating and maintaining your account and keeping you signed in
- Determining and honouring your subscription entitlement across devices
- Processing subscription payments through PhonePe where that rail applies
- Understanding how the App is used — which features shops rely on, where people abandon a flow, which plans convert
- Diagnosing crashes and errors so the App works on more devices
- Deciding what to build next
- Preventing fraud and abuse of subscriptions
- Complying with legal obligations, including tax and accounting requirements in respect of payments
We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.
4. Advertising
The App contains no advertising. There is no advertising SDK in the App and no ad network receives data from it.
The App does show a "More Apps" screen listing other apps we publish. That list is fetched from our own website and sends us nothing about you beyond the ordinary network request.
Note that Google Analytics for Firebase collects the Android advertising ID by default, as described in Section 1.4, even though the App shows no ads. You can reset that identifier or opt out of ads personalisation at any time:
- Android: Settings > Google > Ads
- iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking
- https://adssettings.google.com
5. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
The App offers a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription, and a one-time lifetime purchase.
5.1 Google Play and Apple
Outside India, and everywhere on iPhone and iPad, purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple. We never receive or store your card details, billing address or any other payment information. We receive the purchase status, product identifier and transaction identifier so we can unlock premium features.
5.2 PhonePe (Indian users on Android)
In India on Android, subscriptions are billed by UPI AutoPay mandate through PhonePe. You approve the mandate inside your own UPI app. Our backend records the plan, the order and subscription identifiers, the payment status and the subscription dates so it can verify your payment and honour your entitlement. Your UPI PIN, UPI ID, card number and bank details are never seen by the App or by us.
5.3 Free Allowance
Non-premium users may create a limited number of job cards. That limit is set remotely and is currently five. Reaching it does not delete anything you have already created.
See also our Refund Policy.
6. Data Storage, Backup and Security
6.1 Your Business Data Is Not Backed Up By Us
Your job cards, photographs, payments and customer records exist in exactly one place: your device. We hold no copy, there is no cloud sync, and we cannot restore them.
If your phone is lost, stolen, reset, or the App's data is cleared, that information is gone permanently. Uninstalling the App deletes it. Please treat your device backup arrangements as the only protection you have, and export or print job cards you need to keep.
6.2 Account And Subscription Data
Your account record and subscription status are stored on our servers in India, and are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
6.3 Analytics And Crash Data
Transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google's infrastructure under Google's security practices.
6.4 Our Practices
We follow reasonable secure development practices, keep dependencies updated, and limit access to account data to the people who need it. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Sharing and Disclosure
7.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, trade, rent or share your information with third parties for their own purposes.
7.2 Service Providers
The only third parties that receive data from the App are:
- Google — Firebase Authentication, Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config, Google Sign-In, and Google Play Billing
- Apple — Sign in with Apple and In-App Purchase, on iPhone and iPad
- PhonePe — payment processing for the Indian UPI AutoPay rail
- WhatsApp — only when you yourself send a status update, and only the message you send
Each processes data under its own privacy policy, linked in Section 1.
7.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order or other legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety or property, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
7.4 Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will update this policy if that happens.
8. Data Retention
- On-device data (job cards, photos, settings): kept until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. We have no involvement and no copy.
- Account data: kept while your account is active, and deleted on request as described in Section 9.
- Payment and subscription records: retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting law, even after account deletion, in a form limited to what those obligations require.
- Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days.
- Analytics data: retained according to our Firebase Analytics retention setting, and in any case for no longer than 14 months.
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Access And Correction
Your name and email come from your Google or Apple account; change them there and they update here on your next sign-in. Everything else you can see and edit inside the App.
9.2 Deleting Your Account
Settings > Delete account signs you out, removes your local session and deletes your Firebase user.
To have the account record held on our own servers erased as well — including your name, email and subscription record — email [email protected] from the address you signed in with, or from any address quoting it, and we will delete it within 30 days, keeping only what tax and accounting law requires us to keep. We are also adding an in-app path that performs this server-side deletion directly.
Note that deleting your account does NOT delete the job cards on your device; uninstalling the App does. Deleting your account also does not cancel a Google Play or Apple subscription — cancel that in your store account, as described in Section 9.4. Step-by-step instructions: How to Delete Your Account.
9.3 Deleting Your Business Data
Delete individual job cards inside the App, or clear the App's data or uninstall it to remove everything at once. This is irreversible.
9.4 Managing Your Subscription
- Google Play: Play Store > Menu > Subscriptions
- Apple: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions
- PhonePe / UPI AutoPay: manage or revoke the mandate in the UPI app you approved it in, or write to [email protected]
9.5 Advertising Identifier
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation in your device settings, as described in Section 4.
9.6 Rights Under Applicable Law
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to it, or to withdraw consent. In India, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 gives you these rights; in the EEA and UK, the GDPR does. To exercise any of them, contact [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days, and you may complain to your local data protection authority if you are not satisfied.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is a business tool intended for repair shop owners and technicians. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
11. International Data Transfers
We operate from India, and our account and subscription servers are located in India. Analytics and crash data is processed by Google on infrastructure that may be located in the United States or elsewhere. By using the App you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in those countries, which may have different data protection laws than your own.
12. Third-Party Links and Apps
The App opens the following outside itself:
- Our privacy policy, terms and refund policy, shown in an in-app browser
- WhatsApp, when you send a customer a status update
- Your UPI app, when you pay by UPI AutoPay
- The Google Play or App Store listing, for updates, ratings and our other apps
- Your email app, when you contact support
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is published. Material changes — in particular, any change to what we collect — will be published before the version of the App that makes them is released, and the "Last Updated" date above will change.
Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Governing Law and Compliance
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, India.
We comply with applicable Indian data protection law, including:
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
- Information Technology Act, 2000
- Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
