1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how "PromoReel" ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. PromoReel is designed to be an offline-first application — your photos, videos, text, and branding content never leave your device.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be very clear about this. PromoReel does NOT:

  • Require you to create an account, sign up, or log in.
  • Collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address.
  • Upload your photos, videos, music, logos, or any media to any server.
  • Store your branding details (business name, logo, phone number, address) anywhere outside your own device.
  • Track your location.
  • Read your contacts, messages, call logs, or calendar.
  • Sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing.

All videos you create, all media you select, and all branding presets you save are stored locally on your device only.

3. Information Accessed on Your Device

To let you create videos, the App needs access to certain data stored on your device. This data stays on your device:

a) Photos and Videos
  • The App requests permission to read images and videos from your gallery so you can select assets for your Status video.
  • Only the files you explicitly select are used. We do not scan or upload your gallery.
b) Audio Files (optional)
  • If you choose to pick music from your device, the App accesses the audio file you select. The App also includes bundled royalty-free music that does not require any permission.
c) Storage
  • The final rendered video is saved to your device's internal storage or a public folder so you can share it through WhatsApp or other apps.
d) Internet (for ads and crash reports only)
  • The free tier of the App uses the internet to show ads and send anonymous crash reports (see Section 4).

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates a limited set of trusted third-party services. These services may collect limited technical data as described below:

a) Google AdMob (google_mobile_ads)
  • Used only in the free tier to display advertisements.
  • AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, and general usage signals to serve relevant ads.
  • You can opt out of personalized ads in your device settings ("Reset advertising ID" / "Opt out of Ads Personalization" on Android).

b) Firebase Crashlytics (firebase_crashlytics)
  • Collects anonymous crash reports (device model, OS version, stack trace) to help us fix bugs and improve stability.
  • Crashlytics does not collect personally identifiable information.

c) Google Play Billing (in_app_purchase)
  • Used to process Pro and Business subscriptions.
  • Payment information is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your credit card, UPI, or other payment details.

Paid subscribers who disable ads will not see any AdMob advertising requests from the App.

5. Permissions We Request

The App requests only the permissions it needs to function:

  • READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_MEDIA_AUDIO (or READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older Android versions): To let you pick photos, videos, and optional music from your gallery.
  • INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: To show ads (free tier) and send anonymous crash reports.
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (where applicable): To save the rendered video on your device.
  • BILLING: To process in-app subscriptions via Google Play.

We do NOT request permissions for contacts, SMS, location, microphone, camera, phone state, or any other sensitive data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by small business owners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has used the App in a way that collected data, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. Data Security

Because the App is offline-first and stores your content on your own device, the security of your data depends largely on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system updated and using a screen lock.

For the limited data sent to AdMob and Firebase Crashlytics, transmission is secured via HTTPS.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local data (videos, branding presets, video history) is retained on your device until you delete it from within the App or uninstall the App.
  • Uninstalling the App will remove the App's local database and cache.
  • Anonymous crash reports held by Firebase follow Google's standard retention policies.
  • You have no account with us, so there is no server-side user data to delete.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including India's DPDP Act, the EU GDPR, and similar laws), you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data processed about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of that data.
  • Opt out of personalized advertising.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing.

Since the App does not collect personal data from you directly, most of these rights are satisfied by the fact that no such data exists with us. For AdMob and Firebase Crashlytics data, please use the controls provided by Google (device settings and Google account settings).

10. International Users

The App is primarily offered in India but may be used worldwide. The third-party services (Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Play Billing) may process data in countries where Google operates. By using the App, you consent to such processing in accordance with those services' policies.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. Material changes will also be communicated through the App or on the Google Play listing. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
