How to Delete Your Data

App name: WA Transcriber (com.binaryscript.watranscriber)
Developer: Binaryscript Private Limited

There is no account to delete. WA Transcriber has no sign-in, no registration and no user profile. We operate no servers that hold your data, so there is no account record on our side to erase.

Everything the App stores about you is on your own phone, and you remove it yourself. This page explains exactly how, and what is removed.

Step 1: Cancel Your Subscription First (If You Have One)

Deleting the App's data does not cancel a subscription, and neither does uninstalling. If you bought a monthly or yearly plan, cancel it in Google Play before you remove the App.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app
  2. Tap the profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions
  3. Select WA Transcriber
  4. Tap Cancel subscription

The lifetime product is a one-time purchase, not a subscription — there is nothing to cancel. Purchases are not refunded; see our Refund Policy.

Step 2: Delete Individual Transcripts

Open the App's history and delete any transcript you want gone. This removes that entry from files/history.json on your device immediately. The history also discards entries automatically once it exceeds the 200 most recent.

Step 3: Remove Everything At Once

Either of these clears all data the App holds:

Clear storage — device Settings > Apps > WA Transcriber > Storage > Clear storage. The App stays installed and starts fresh.

Uninstall — device Settings > Apps > WA Transcriber > Uninstall, or long-press the icon and uninstall. This removes the App and everything it stored.

Both are immediate and irreversible. Copy out any transcript you want to keep first — the App has Copy and Share on each result, and nothing is backed up anywhere for us to restore.

What Gets Removed

Clearing storage or uninstalling removes all of the following from your device:

  • Cached audio — the copy of the voice note you shared, held in the App cache
  • Transcript historyfiles/history.json, including every transcript and its detected language
  • Speech modelsfiles/models/, the 32–190 MB model you downloaded
  • Settings — your chosen language, model and translate preference
  • Free-usage counters — how many free transcriptions you have used
  • Purchase status cache — the locally cached record of what you own

None of this was ever uploaded to us, so removing it on your device removes it completely.

Two Things That Live Outside the App
Android Auto Backup

If you have Android Auto Backup enabled, Android copies a single preferences file containing your usage counters to your Google account. Your transcript history and your speech models are explicitly excluded from backup, so your transcripts are never copied to Google Drive. To remove that one backed-up file, delete the App's backup data in your Google account: Google Drive > Backups, or Android Settings > Google > Backup.

Analytics and crash data held by Google

Anonymous usage events and crash reports are processed by Google, keyed to a per-installation identifier rather than to you. Because we collect nothing that identifies you, we generally cannot find "your" records to delete. You can:

  • Reset the identifier — reset your advertising ID in Android Settings > Google > Ads, which detaches future data from the old one
  • Uninstall — a fresh install gets a new installation identifier
  • Note that analytics is retained by Google for up to 14 months and crash reports for up to 90 days, then expire on their own

Subject: Data Deletion - WA Transcriber

We will respond within 30 days. Be aware that we may be unable to locate records relating to you, precisely because the App does not collect identifying data — that limitation is a consequence of the privacy design, not an evasion.

Important Notes
  • No account exists. There is no login to remove and no profile on our servers.
  • Deletion is permanent. Transcripts are not backed up by us and cannot be recovered.
  • Cancel before you uninstall. Uninstalling does not stop a Google Play subscription.
  • Your purchase survives. If you reinstall while a purchase is still active, Google Play restores your entitlement — deleting local data does not lose what you paid for.
  • Re-downloading the model. Clearing storage deletes the speech model; the App downloads it again the next time you transcribe.
  • The audio itself. The original voice note stays wherever it came from — in WhatsApp or in your files. The App only ever held a cached copy, and clearing storage removes it.
